Neurotoxins

Neurotoxins

At Balanced Body Healthcare, we know that anti-aging and wrinkle reduction is a common desire and concern for many of our clients. Neurotoxin and wrinkle relief injectable treatments are the most commonly sought after cosmetic procedure in the U.S. with the main goal to smooth the skin and decrease the intensity of dynamic wrinkles, or those wrinkles that form as a result of overused facial muscles and repeated movements like frowning, squinting, smiling, and other expressions we tend to make day after day.

At Balanced Body Healthcare, we utilize brands such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.

These commonly utilized neurotoxins utilize Type A Botulinum Toxin to act as a muscle relaxer and effectively smooth out the appearance of furrowing and crevices from overused muscles. Neurotoxins are effective in treating wrinkles and furrows by prohibiting the nerve signals from the brain to the muscles, limiting their hyperactivity, and smoothing the complexion. As a result, your expressions will become softer and lighter, and the appearance of dynamic wrinkles is significantly reduced.

Neurotoxin FAQ’s

How Do Neurotoxins Work? What Is The Technology?

Neurotoxin injectables prohibit nerve signals from activating the facial muscles, effectively forcing the treated facial muscles to relax and effectively diminishing the appearance of wrinkling and furrowing of the skin with facial expressions and smoothing out the whole face appearing younger and lighter.

What Can I Expect During The Treatment?

A very fine needle is used for your neurotoxin injectable and is generally painless.  You may feel a small pinch and some light burning and a topical anesthetic is available, but typically isn’t required! Some post-injection swelling or light bruising is common and fades within a few days to one week.

What Are The Results?

Neurotoxins are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of wrinkles by keeping the treated muscle from contracting and disrupting the surface of the skin. Following your body’s initial phase of healing- approximately 7-10 days, you’ll see the swelling decrease with optimal and effective results with the maintenance of a smoother complexion for up to three months following treatment. It is important to remember to avoid rubbing of the skin or aggressive rubbing initially to avoid disrupting the injected solution and allow it to settle where it is injected.

Clients Will Notice:

A younger complexion with decreased lines and wrinkles with a generalized lifting and smoothing result of the skin on the treated area. Great for use on the face, neck, chest, and hands.

Are Neurotoxins Safe?

Neurotoxins have been tested and researched and are very safe and minimally invasive requiring no downtime after injection. You may resume all normal activities following the procedure with increased attention to skin protection and avoid rubbing the treated areas for 3-4 days following to allow the neurotoxin to settle and work effectively where it is desired and injected. You’ll likely experience swelling or a bit of bruising, which is common and recedes within the first few days.

What are the Benefits of Neurotoxin Injections?

Rejuvenate your complexion and shave years off your appearance by creating a tighter, lifted, and brighter complexion with fewer fine lines and wrinkles in a minimally invasive and nearly pain-free treatment.

What should I do before my injection?

Avoid any products that could thin the blood approximately 3-7 days prior- such as aspirin, ibuprofen, alcohol, or blood thinners. Please check with your doctor before discontinuing prescribed medications to ensure safety.

What should I do after my injection?

After treatment, avoid excessive sun and heat.  Proper skin protection and sun care should be taken with the use of sunscreen (SPF 25 or higher) and protective sun gear such as hats and sunglasses for the first 7 days post-treatment.  Avoid squeezing or massaging treated areas to decrease the risk of injection manipulation and neurotoxin adjustment or settling into non-affected areas.
